STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 14894 This proposed legislation would eliminate strategic planning and performance measurement requirements deemed as generally not meeting legislative intent, and to establish new requirements designed to improve the process. The intent is to generate information that can be used to improve state agency accountability, increase the ability of state agencies to assess agency performance and make any needed changes. FISCAL NOTE Oral reports from agencies to germane committees will necessitate a small increase in time spent for both lawmakers and agency officials. Offering training will require approximately $10,000 every two years, $10,000 for the Office of Performance Evaluation every 2 years, and $10,000 for the Department of Financial Management every 2 years.
