]]]] LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO ]]]] Fifty-eighth Legislature First Regular Session - 2005IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE PROCLAMATION NO. 2 BY STATE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE 1 A PROCLAMATION 2 COMMENDING JOSIE NIELSON OF EAGLE, IDAHO, AND TREVOR BARROTT OF KIMBERLY, 3 IDAHO. 4 We, the members of the House of Representatives of the State of Idaho 5 assembled in the First Regular Session of the Fifty-eighth Idaho Legislature, 6 do hereby proclaim that: 7 WHEREAS, Josie Nielson, an esteemed resident of Eagle, Idaho, and a stu- 8 dent at Eagle Middle School has achieved national recognition for exemplary 9 volunteer services by receiving a 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, Trevor Barrott, an esteemed resident of Kimberly, Idaho, and a 12 student at Kimberly High School has achieved national recognition for exem- 13 plary volunteer services by receiving a 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community 14 Award; and 15 WHEREAS, these prestigious awards, presented by Prudential Financial in 16 partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, 17 honor young volunteers across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary 18 commitment to serving their communities; and 19 WHEREAS, Miss Nielson earned this award by giving generously of her time 20 and energy to help those at the local Ronald McDonald House and in the 21 pediatric unit of St. Luke's Regional Medical Center; and 22 WHEREAS, Mr. Barrott earned this award by giving generously of his time 23 and energy to help children of U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq, by creating the 24 "Dare to Care" program; 25 WHEREAS, the success of the state of Idaho, the strength of our communi- 26 ties, and the overall vitality of American society depends, in great measure, 27 upon the dedication of young people like Miss Nielson and Mr. Barrott who use 28 their considerable talents and resources to serve others. 29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the members of the House of Represen- 30 tatives assembled in the First Regular Session of the Fifty-eighth Idaho Leg- 31 islature, that we hereby congratulate and honor Josie Nielson and Trevor 32 Barrott as recipients of the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, we recog- 33 nize their outstanding record of volunteer service, peer leadership and commu- 34 nity spirit and we extend best wishes for both her and his continued success 35 and happiness.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 15021C1 This House Proclamation recognizes two young people, Josie Nielson, an Eagle Middle School Student and resident of Eagle, Idaho and Trevor Barrott, a student of Kimberly High School and a resident of Kimberly, Idaho for exemplary volunteer services. Both Josie and Trevor received the 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community Award. This award is presented in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals and in honor of young volunteers across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities. The primary purposes of this proclamation are to recognize outstanding service by teens and encourage Idaho's youth to engage in acts of community service throughout the state.
