2 APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE IDAHO STATE POLICE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006; LIMITING
3 THE NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS; AND EXPRESSING
4 LEGISLATIVE INTENT WITH REGARD TO SALARIES.
5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
6 SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the Idaho State Police the
7 following amounts to be expended for the designated programs according to the
8 designated expense classes from the listed funds for the period July 1, 2005,
9 through June 30, 2006:

27 SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Idaho
28 State Police is authorized no more than five hundred thirty-three and seven-
29 hundredths (533.07) full-time equivalent positions at any point during the
30 period July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006, for the programs specified in Sec-
31 tion 1 of this act, unless specifically authorized by the Governor. The Joint
32 Finance-Appropriations Committee will be notified promptly of any increased
33 positions so authorized.
34 SECTION 3. It is legislative intent that the Director of the Idaho State
35 Police has the support of the Legislature to be flexible in using the Idaho
36 State Police personnel appropriation to enhance salaries for recruitment and
37 retention of quality employees. The source of funding for this purpose shall
38 come from the base appropriation and the department shall not request restora-
39 tion of the funds used for this purpose.
