REPRINT REPRINT REPRINT REPRINT REPRINT REPRINT STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 14604 The purpose of this legislation is to enhance the bond levy equalization program by allowing school districts the option of using the percentage of students using the free and reduced lunch program as one of the economic indicators used to determine the reimbursement rate for bond interest subsidies. FISCAL NOTE The impact of this change is estimated to be $100,000 for FY2006. The bond levy equalization program is currently supported with proceeds from the lottery dividend provided to public schools. Future impacts would be included in the annual calculation of bond levy equalization program support as calculated by the State Department of Education.
