]]]] LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO ]]]] Fifty-eighth Legislature First Regular Session - 2005IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE BILL NO. 257 BY STATE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 RELATING TO PLUMBING; AMENDING SECTION 54-2621, IDAHO CODE, TO PROVIDE A REF- 3 ERENCE TO PITLESS ADAPTORS; AND AMENDING SECTION 54-2624, IDAHO CODE, TO 4 PROVIDE A REFERENCE TO PITLESS ADAPTORS, TO DEFINE THE TERM "PITLESS 5 ADAPTOR" AND TO MAKE TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS. 6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 7 SECTION 1. That Section 54-2621, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby 8 amended to read as follows: 9 54-2621. WORK NOT REQUIRING PERMITS. A permit shall not be required for 10 the clearing of stoppages or repairing of leaks in pipes, valves, fixtures, 11 appliances or appurtenances, including pitless adaptors, of any plumbing sys- 12 tem when such work does not involve or require any functional rearrangement of 13 pipes, valves or fixtures comprising the plumbing system. 14 SECTION 2. That Section 54-2624, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby 15 amended to read as follows: 16 54-2624. INSPECTION BY AGENT -- TESTS. (1) All pipes, fittings, valves, 17 vents, fixtures, appliances and appurtenances, including pitless adaptors as 18 defined in subsection (2) of this section, shall be inspected by a designated, 19 qualified and properly identified agent of the division of building safety to 20insureensure compliance with provisions of thisactchapter. In order to make 21 inspections uniform and complete, the board shall make, promulgate and publish 22 such rules as are necessary toinsureensure that any plumbing system has been 23 designed, constructed, installed, improved, extended or altered in accordance 24 with the provisions of thisactchapter and in accordance with the rules made, 25 promulgated and published by the Idaho plumbing board. 26 (2) As used in this chapter, "pitless adaptor" means a device that allows 27 a pump to discharge from a water well into a pressurized supply line at a 28 point below the seasonal frost level.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 15033 This legislation would insure that pitless adaptors are inspected by the plumbing inspectors at the same time as all other connections to the well.
