1 AN ACT
2 RELATING TO THE IDAHO DIGITAL LEARNING ACADEMY; AMENDING CHAPTER 55, TITLE 33,
3 IDAHO CODE, BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION 33-5509, IDAHO CODE, TO CLAR-
4 IFY THAT THE IDAHO DIGITAL LEARNING ACADEMY IS A STATE DEPARTMENT FOR
5 INSURANCE PURPOSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
7 SECTION 1. That Chapter 55, Title 33, Idaho Code, be, and the same is
8 hereby amended by the addition thereto of a NEW SECTION, to be known and des-
9 ignated as Section 33-5509, Idaho Code, and to read as follows:
10 33-5509. DIGITAL LEARNING ACADEMY A STATE DEPARTMENT FOR PURPOSES OF
11 GROUP INSURANCE. For insurance purposes, the Idaho digital learning academy
12 shall be considered a state department for purposes of insurance pursuant to
13 chapter 57, title 67, Idaho Code, and the department of administration shall
14 treat it as such.
15 SECTION 2. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby
16 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
17 passage and approval.

1 AMENDMENT TO SECTION 1
2 On page 1 of the printed bill, in line 11 delete "GROUP INSURANCE" and
3 insert: "RISK MANAGEMENT"; also in line 11, delete "insurance" and insert:
4 "risk management"; and in line 12, delete "insurance" and insert: "risk man-
5 agement".
6 CORRECTION TO TITLE
7 On page 1, in line 5 delete "INSURANCE" and insert: "RISK MANAGEMENT".

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS 15980
The purpose of this legislation is to clarify the status of the
Idaho Digital Learning Academy as a state department within the
Department of Education, Title 33, Chapter 55, Section 5502,
Idaho Code, for purposes of participation in the risk management
program.
FISCAL NOTE
There is no impact on the state general fund.
