  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DIVISION  OF  BUILDING  SAFETY  IN  THE
  3        DEPARTMENT  OF  SELF-GOVERNING  AGENCIES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006; AUTHORIZING
  4        ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME POSITIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
                                                                        
  5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  6        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made in  Section  1,  Chapter
  7    302,  Laws  of  2005, there is hereby appropriated to the Division of Building
  8    Safety in the Department of Self-Governing Agencies the following amount to be
  9    expended according to the designated expense classes from the listed funds for
 10    the period July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006:

 27        SECTION 2.  In addition to the full-time equivalent  positions  authorized
 28    in  Section  2,  Chapter 302, Laws of 2005, the Division of Building Safety is
 29    hereby authorized an additional eight (8) full-time equivalent  positions  for
 30    the period July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006.
                                                                        
 31        SECTION  3.  An  emergency  existing  therefor,  which emergency is hereby
 32    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 33    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose

This is the fiscal year 2006 Supplemental Appropriation for the Division of Building Safety in the Department of Self-Governing Agencies. This bill provides $484,700 in dedicated fund spending authority and authorizes an additional 8.0 FTP for the Division. This bill provides additional resources to the Division to meet the increasing demand for timely inspections related to the continuing growth in construction in Idaho.
