SENATE BILL NO. 1446

1 AN ACT
2 APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007; LIMITING
3 THE NUMBER OF FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS; AND DIRECTING THE ALLOCATION
4 OF SALARY SAVINGS.
5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
6 SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated $117,300 to the Lieutenant Gover-
7 nor from the General Fund for the period July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007.
8 SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Office of
9 the Lieutenant Governor is authorized no more than two (2) full-time equiva-
10 lent positions at any point during the period July 1, 2006, through June 30,
11 2007, for the program specified in Section 1 of this act, unless specifically
12 authorized by the Governor. The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee will be
13 notified promptly of any increased positions so authorized.
14 SECTION 3. The Lieutenant Governor is hereby directed to allocate salary
15 savings, based on performance, to provide for employee salary needs before
16 other operational budget priorities are considered. Where applicable, employ-
17 ees whose salaries are below the midpoint of their pay grade or occupational
18 groups with significant turnover rates shall be considered first in the order
19 of salary savings distributions.
