STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 16778 To provide a more cost effective procedure that allows the Industrial Commission to send notices of hearings by first class mail. First class mail is the service used by all the judicial districts in the state of Idaho concerning the mailing of trial dates, court orders, and decisions issued by judges. Further, first class mail is used by the Idaho Supreme Court to notify parties in Supreme Court matters. With claimants representing themselves, the Industrial Commission schedules a telephonic conference with the parties as well as a confirming telephone call, prior to any hearing. This proposed change would have saved the Industrial Commission in excess of $3,000.00 in 2005. FISCAL NOTE This amendment may reduce operating costs for the Industrial Commission. However, it will have no affect on the general fund as the Industrial Commission is a dedicated fund agency.
