Municipalities may also require 37 fees for permits and inspections in areas designated by local code or ordi- 38 nance as areas of city impact.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 16503 This legislation is intended to simplify the licensure or certification, permitting, inspection, and inspection fee requirements for HVAC installations, as well as those portions of certain plumbing and electrical installations that may be impacted by the installation of HVAC equipment. Currently, the state plumbing, electrical, and HVAC boards issue licenses or certificates and permits, perform inspections, and charge fees. This creates issues with respect to the number of permits and inspections that are necessary, in order to perform work that may involve some or all of these three disciplines.
