]]]] LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO ]]]] Fifty-ninth Legislature First Regular Session - 2007IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 13 BY ENVIRONMENT, ENERGY AND TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE 1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 2 STATING LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS AND ADOPTING THE IDAHO ENERGY PLAN APPROVED BY 3 THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL INTERIM COMMITTEE ON ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT AND TECH- 4 NOLOGY ON JANUARY 26, 2007, AS THE STATE ENERGY PLAN. 5 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 6 WHEREAS, in 2006, the members of the Second Regular Session of the 7 Fifty-eighth Idaho Legislature adopted House Concurrent Resolution No. 62, 8 which requested that the Legislative Council Interim Committee on Energy, 9 Environment and Technology develop an integrated state energy plan that, among 10 other things, provides for the state's power generation needs and protects 11 Idaho's public health, safety and natural environment and conserves Idaho's 12 natural resources; and 13 WHEREAS, the Legislative Council Interim Committee on Energy, Environment 14 and Technology met on twelve separate days and appointed four citizen and leg- 15 islator subcommittees that held seven total meetings during the legislative 16 interim in 2006; and 17 WHEREAS, the Legislative Council Interim Committee on Energy, Environment 18 and Technology adopted the Idaho Energy Plan on January 26, 2007; and 19 WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Legislature to ratify this plan, while at 20 the same time making it a living, breathing plan with the intent that it be 21 revisited at a minimum of once every five years. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the First Regular Session 23 of the Fifty-ninth Idaho Legislature, the House of Representatives and the 24 Senate concurring therein, that we formally adopt the Idaho Energy Plan as 25 adopted by the Legislative Council Interim Committee on Energy, Environment 26 and Technology on January 26, 2007, as the State Energy Plan and that the Leg- 27 islature update this plan at a minimum of once every five years. 28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislative Council Interim Committee on 29 Energy, Environment and Technology shall cause to have printed 500 copies of 30 the plan from appropriated funds. The Division of Energy in the Department of 31 Water Resources is requested to make an electronic copy of the plan available 32 on its website.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 16967 The purpose of this concurrent resolution is to adopt the integrated Idaho Energy Plan developed by the Legislative Council s interim Committee on Energy, Environment and Technology as directed by House Concurrent Resolution No.62 FISCAL IMPACT There should be no fiscal impact because money has already been appropriated and expended for the production of the energy plan.
