]]]] LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO ]]]] Fifty-ninth Legislature First Regular Session - 2007IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 17 BY REVENUE AND TAXATION COMMITTEE 1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 2 STATING FINDINGS OF THE LEGISLATURE AND REJECTING PENDING RULES OF THE DIVI- 3 SION OF VETERANS SERVICES, RULES FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF VETERAN'S PREFER- 4 ENCE IN PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT. 5 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 6 WHEREAS, the Legislature is vested with authority to reject executive 7 agency rules under the provisions of Section 67-5291, Idaho Code, in the event 8 that the Legislature finds that the rules are not consistent with legislative 9 intent; and 10 WHEREAS, it is the finding of the Legislature that certain rules of the 11 Division of Veterans Services for the Enforcement of Veteran's Preferences in 12 Public Employment are not consistent with legislative intent and should be 13 rejected. 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the First Regular Session 15 of the Fifty-ninth Idaho Legislature, the House of Representatives and the 16 Senate concurring therein, that IDAPA 21.01.06, Rules of the Division of Vet- 17 erans Services, Rules for the Enforcement of the Veteran's Preference in Pub- 18 lic Employment, adopted as pending rules under Docket Number 21-0106-0601 (New 19 Chapter), the entire rulemaking docket, be, and the same is hereby rejected 20 and declared null, void and of no force and effect.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 17026 This concurrent resolution would reject a pending rule of the Division of Veterans Services pertaining to Rules for the Enforcement of Veteran's Preference in Public Employment. The effect of this resolution, if adopted by both houses, would be to prevent the agency rule from going into effect. FISCAL NOTE This concurrent resolution has no fiscal impact.
