]]]] LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO ]]]] Fifty-ninth Legislature First Regular Session - 2007IN THE SENATE SENATE BILL NO. 1177 BY FINANCE COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE FOR 3 PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES IN THE PHYSICAL HEALTH SERVICES PROGRAM FOR FISCAL 4 YEAR 2007; APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND 5 WELFARE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES IN THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PRO- 6 GRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 8 SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter 9 373, Laws of 2006, there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Health 10 and Welfare for public health services in the Physical Health Services Program 11 the following amount, to be expended according to the designated expense class 12 from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007: 13 FOR: 14 Operating Expenditures $750,000 15 FROM: 16 Cooperative Welfare Fund (General) $750,000 17 SECTION 2. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 3, Chapter 18 373, Laws of 2006, there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Health 19 and Welfare for public health services in the Emergency Medical Services Pro- 20 gram the following amount, to be expended according to the designated expense 21 class from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007: 22 FOR: 23 Operating Expenditures $100,000 24 FROM: 25 Emergency Medical Services Fund $100,000 26 SECTION 3. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby 27 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its 28 passage and approval.

This is a fiscal year 2007 supplemental appropriation to the Department of Health and Welfare for public health services in the Physical Health Services program and the Emergency Medical Services program.
Section 1 of the bill provides $700,000 from the General Fund to the Physical Health Services program for the replacement of TANF monies used for the Immunization Registry Information System (IRIS); and $50,000 from the General Fund for the replacement of TANF funding that paid for education and outreach costs associated with immunizations.
Section 2 of the bill provides $100,000 one time dedicated spending authority to the Emergency Medical Services program for the replacement of TANF funding that was used to fund a portion of the poison control contract.

This legislation appropriates a total of $850,000 for fiscal year 2007. The breakdown of the total is $750,000 from the General Fund and $100,000 from the Emergency Medical Services Fund.
