]]]] LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO ]]]] Fifty-ninth Legislature First Regular Session - 2007IN THE SENATE SENATE BILL NO. 1202 BY STATE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 RELATING TO MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS; AMENDING SECTION 67-2002, 3 IDAHO CODE, TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS SHALL HAVE REGU- 4 LAR MEETINGS NOT LESS FREQUENTLY THAN MONTHLY, AND MAY HOLD SUCH ADJOURNED 5 OR SPECIAL MEETINGS AS THE CHAIRMAN MAY DIRECT AND MAY MEET AT ANY TIME ON 6 CALL OF THE CHAIRMAN OR A MAJORITY OF THE BOARD. 7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 8 SECTION 1. That Section 67-2002, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby 9 amended to read as follows: 10 67-2002.SESSIONSMEETINGS OF BOARD -- CLAIMS.Regular sessions of the11state board of examiners shall be held on the second Tuesday of each month.12Other sessions may be held at such time and place, and upon such notice, as13the board may by resolution prescribeThe state board of examiners shall have 14 regular meetings not less frequently than monthly, and may hold such adjourned 15 or special meetings as the chairman may direct and may meet at any time on 16 call of the chairman or a majority of the board. No claim shall be examined 17 and passed upon by any member unless a majority of the board is present.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 17152 This change, which closely follows the language in 58-103 governing Land Board meetings, gives the Board of Examiners flexibility to set their regular monthly meeting date. This will allow the Board of Examiners to choose a date which will allow timely reporting of activities from the previous month. For convenience, the Board of Land Commissioners typically meets immediately following the Board of Examiners meeting, so this change will permit more efficient scheduling for both boards.
