                                     HOUSE BILL NO. 373

                                BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE

  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR FISCAL YEAR  2008;
  3        AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

  4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

  5        SECTION  1.  In  addition  to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter
  6    177, Laws of 2007, there is hereby appropriated to the  Attorney  General  for
  7    State  and  Legal  Services the sum of $95,000 from the Federal Grant Fund for
  8    personnel costs, for the period July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008.

  9        SECTION 2.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
 10    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 11    passage and approval.

This is a supplemental appropriation to the Attorney General for State and Legal Services for FY 2008.

Fiscal Note

Provides ongoing federal spending authority of $95,000 to cover an additional quarter of personnel costs in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit within the State and Legal Services program. The original FY2008 appropriation for implementing this new program was based on the anticipation that the federal grant would be approved beginning October 1, 2007. The grant was submitted and approved beginning July 1, 2007.
