                                     HOUSE BILL NO. 374

                                BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE

  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE STATE CONTROLLER FOR FISCAL YEAR  2008;
  3        AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

  4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

  5        SECTION  1.  In  addition  to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter
  6    322, Laws of 2007, there is hereby appropriated to the  State  Controller  the
  7    following  amount,  to be expended for the designated program according to the
  8    designated expense class from the listed fund for the  period  July  1,  2007,
  9    through June 30, 2008:
 10    COMPUTER CENTER:
 11    FOR:
 12    Operating Expenditures                                              $1,700,000
 13    FROM:
 14    Data Processing Services Fund                                       $1,700,000

 15        SECTION  2.  An  emergency  existing  therefor,  which emergency is hereby
 16    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 17    passage and approval.

This FY 2008 supplemental appropriation increases the State Controller’s Computer Center Services dedicated fund spending authority by $1,700,000 from dedicated funds. The monies within the fund are collected from state agencies for services such as computer programming, data storage, and housing of various state agencies’ mainframe hardware. The appropriation allows the State Controller to spend the cash collected from state agencies to cover ongoing maintenance costs and programming staff costs.

Fiscal Note

This bill increases the State Controller’s spending authority in the Computer Services Center budget by $1,700,000 ongoing in the dedicated funds category.
