                                    SENATE BILL NO. 1416

                           BY RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE

  1                                        AN ACT
  2    RELATING TO WATER RIGHTS ADJUDICATIONS; REPEALING SECTIONS 1  AND  3,  CHAPTER
  3        222,  LAWS OF 2006, RELATING TO NORTHERN IDAHO WATER RIGHTS ADJUDICATIONS;
  4        AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

  5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

  6        SECTION 1.  That Sections 1 and 3, Chapter 222, Laws of 2006, be, and  the
  7    same are hereby repealed.

  8        SECTION  2.  An  emergency  existing  therefor,  which emergency is hereby
  9    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 10    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

                       STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

                             RS 17893

The relates to water rights adjudications.  It repeals Sections 1
and 3, Chapter 222, Laws of 2006, relating to Northern Idaho
Water Rights Adjudications.



                           FISCAL NOTE

Passage of this proposed repeal would save the state of Idaho
millions of dollars in known costs and potentially tens of
millions of dollars in unknown expenses resulting from years of
court costs and claims.
