  1                                        AN ACT
  2    RELATING TO THE APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE;  AMEND-
  3        ING  SECTION  1, CHAPTER 295, LAWS OF 2007, TO REVISE THE APPROPRIATION TO
  4        THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE FOR SERVICES FOR THE  DEVELOPMENTALLY
  5        DISABLED  IN  THE  COMMUNITY  DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES SERVICES PROGRAM;
  6        AMENDING SECTION 3, CHAPTER 295, LAWS OF 2007, TO REVISE THE APPROPRIATION
  7        TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND WELFARE FOR SERVICES FOR  THE  DEVELOPMEN-
  8        TALLY DISABLED IN THE IDAHO STATE SCHOOL AND HOSPITAL PROGRAM; AND DECLAR-
  9        ING AN EMERGENCY.

 10    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 11        SECTION 1.  That Section 1, Chapter 295, Laws of 2007, be, and the same is
 12    hereby amended to read as follows:

 13        SECTION  1.  There  is hereby appropriated to the Department of Health and
 14    Welfare for services for the developmentally disabled in the Community  Devel-
 15    opmental  Disability  Services  Program  the  following amounts to be expended
 16    according to the designated expense classes from  the  listed  funds  for  the
 17    period July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008:

 38    School and Hospital Program the following amounts to be expended  according to

 19        SECTION 3.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
 20    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 21    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact


Statement of Purpose
RS17980

This FY 2008 supplemental appropriation is for the Services for the Developmentally Disabled division within the Department of Health and Welfare. This bill provides additional funding for the Idaho State School and Hospital to cover the costs of purchasing prescription medication through Medicare Part D. The bill also reduces the Community Developmental Disability Services budget, the funding is utilized in the State Hospital South supplemental appropriation to pay for an audit finding.

Fiscal Note

This FY 2008 supplemental increases the General Fund appropriation in the Idaho State School and Hospital budget by $100,000 and decreases the dedicated fund appropriation by $100,000. This bill also reduces the General Fund appropriation in the Community DD Services budget by $784,000.
