SPEAKER Requested by: Bureau of Occupational Licenses 1 AN ACT 2 RELATING TO NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS; AMENDING SECTION 54-1609, IDAHO CODE, 3 TO PROVIDE FOR THE ENDORSEMENT OF LICENSES BASED UPON THE SUBMISSION OF 4 EVIDENCE THAT THE APPLICANT MEETS QUALIFICATIONS AS ESTABLISHED BY BOARD 5 RULE. 6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 7 SECTION 1. That Section 54-1609, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby 8 amended to read as follows: 9 54-1609. ENDORSEMENT OF LICENSES. The board, in its discretion, and 10 otherwise subject to the provisions of this act, and the rules of the board 11 promulgated thereunder prescribing the qualifications for a nursing home 12 administrator license, may endorse a nursing home administrator license issued 13 by the proper authorities of any other state upon payment of a fee and upon 14 submission of evidence satisfactory to the board thatsuch other state main-15tained a system and standard of qualifications and examinations for a nursing16home administrator license which were substantially equivalent to those17required in this state at the time such other license was issued by such other18state. On receipt of a completed application and fee, the board may issue a19temporary permit as defined in this chapter and by board rulethe applicant 20 meets those qualifications established by the rules of the board.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 12353 54-1609 strike language dealing with the issuance of a temporary permit, strike language that requires that other states maintain a system equivalent to the qualifications and examinations that Idaho laws and rules require, and add language establishing qualifications by rules of the Board.
