  1                                   A JOINT MEMORIAL
  2    TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, TO THE  SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTA-
  3        TIVES OF THE UNITED STATES IN CONGRESS ASSEMBLED, AND TO THE CONGRESSIONAL
  4        DELEGATION REPRESENTING THE STATE OF IDAHO IN THE CONGRESS OF  THE  UNITED
  5        STATES.
                                                                        
  6        We,  your Memorialists, the House of Representatives and the Senate of the
  7    State of Idaho assembled in the First Regular  Session  of  the  Fifty-seventh
  8    Idaho Legislature, do hereby respectfully represent that:
                                                                        
  9        WHEREAS, the dictatorship of Iraq has continued to develop weapons of mass
 10    destruction  in  violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441;
 11    and
 12        WHEREAS, the dictator, Saddam Hussein has demonstrated  a  willingness  to
 13    use  weapons  of mass destruction against neighboring nations and the citizens
 14    of Iraq; and
 15        WHEREAS, Saddam Hussein threatens the Middle East and the  global  economy
 16    with the threat to use weapons of mass destruction.
 17        NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the First Regular Session
 18    of  the  Fifty-seventh Idaho Legislature, the House of Representatives and the
 19    Senate concurring therein, that we express our support for President George W.
 20    Bush, the President's cabinet, and the men and  women  of  the  United  States
 21    Armed  Forces for their courage and the decision to remove Saddam Hussein from
 22    power.
 23        BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Clerk of the  House  of  Representa-
 24    tives  be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy of this
 25    Memorial to the President of the United States,  the President of  the  Senate
 26    and  the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Congress, and the congres-
 27    sional delegation representing the State of  Idaho  in  the  Congress  of  the
 28    United States.

This resolution expresses Idaho's support for President George W.
Bush, the President's cabinet, and the men and women of the
United States Armed Forces for their courage and the decision to
remove Saddam Hussein from power.
