|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-seventh Legislature First Regular Session - 2003IN THE SENATE SENATE PROCLAMATION NO. 101 BY JUDICIARY AND RULES COMMITTEE 1 A PROCLAMATION 2 COMMENDING MARINE LANCE CORPORAL JACOB TUCKER, CALDWELL, IDAHO, FOR HIS SER- 3 VICE TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. 4 We, the members of the Senate of the State of Idaho assembled in the First 5 Regular Session of the Fifty-seventh Idaho Legislature, recognize and commend 6 the service of Marine Lance Corporal Jacob Tucker of Caldwell. 7 WHEREAS, Marine Lance Corporal Jacob Tucker of Caldwell served 8 meritoriously in the war to bring freedom to Iraq; and 9 WHEREAS, Jacob Tucker served as a radio operator in Bravo Company as he, 10 and his comrades, were among the first to cross the border into Iraq and later 11 as they entered Baghdad; and 12 WHEREAS, Jacob is the son of Paul and Marjie Tucker of Caldwell and is the 13 fourth son of the Tucker family to serve with honor in the military; 14 WHEREAS, Jacob Tucker incurred a gunshot wound and was subsequently 15 awarded a Purple Heart; and 16 WHEREAS, the members of the Senate of the State of Idaho wish to join with 17 the people of Caldwell and all of Idaho to recognize Jacob Tucker for his com- 18 mitment to the principles for which America and Americans stand; and 19 WHEREAS, Jacob Tucker has returned to Caldwell where he will continue his 20 recovery but continues to express his concern for his comrades in arms who are 21 still serving in harm's way. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the members of the Senate assembled in 23 the First Regular Session of the Fifty-seventh Idaho Legislature, that we rec- 24 ognize and commend the service of Marine Lance Corporal Jacob Tucker, extend 25 our congratulations on the recognition of his service and receipt of a Purple 26 Heart. We further assure our servicemen and women of our continuing concern 27 for their welfare and prayers for their safe return. 28 BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED, that the Secretary of the Senate be, and she is 29 hereby instructed to forward copies of this Proclamation to Marine Lance Cor- 30 poral Jacob Tucker and his family of Caldwell, Idaho.
