|Statement of Purpose|
This is a trailer FY 2004 Appropriation for the POST Academy in the Idaho State Police. With the passage of Senate Bill 1028, which increased court fees, there was insufficient revenue to appropriate funding as requested by the agency and recommended by the Governor for the POST Academy. This bill provides the funding for replacement items and Information Technology contract support.
The fiscal impact of this appropriation bill is $192,700 from the Peace Officers Fund. An additional $145,200 was provided for Replacement Items for vehicles, computer equipment, video editing system, furnishings for the dormitory, handguns, and training mannequins. Ongoing operating expenditures of $42,500 were provided to contract for IT support, and $5,000 of one-time funds for a workstation and computer.
