STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS08344 Decrease the renewal fee for the Master Journeyman Electrician license in Idaho Code, title 54, chapter 10, from $25.00 to $15.00 per year to be consistent with the Journeyman Electrician and Specialty Journeyman Electrician renewal fee. The procedure to renew these licenses are the same, the Master Journeyman renewal does not require any additional processing, so the larger fee is not justified. Change the electrical license category name of "Master Journeyman Electrician," in Idaho Code, title 54, chapter 10, to "Master Electrician." The progression of electrical knowledge and experience is from apprentice electrician to journeyman electrician to master electrician. The term "master journeyman" is confusing and contradictory. This is especially true with other states and jurisdictions that have, or wish to enter into reciprocal agreements with Idaho.
