 1                                        AN ACT
 2    APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE CORRECTIONS IN ADDITION  TO
 3        THE  APPROPRIATION MADE IN SECTION 1, HOUSE BILL 333, ENACTED BY THE FIRST
 4        REGULAR SESSION OF THE FIFTY-FIFTH IDAHO LEGISLATURE; AND  AUTHORIZING  AN
 5        ADDITIONAL  FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITION AND LIMITING THE NUMBER OF FULL-
 6        TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS.

 7    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 8        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, House Bill
 9    333, enacted by the First Regular Session of the  Fifty-fifth  Idaho  Legisla-
10    ture,  there  is hereby appropriated to the Department of Juvenile Corrections
11    the following amount to be expended for the designated  program  according  to
12    the  designated  expense  classes from the listed funds for the period July 1,
13    1999, through June 30, 2000:

24        SECTION 2.  In addition to the full-time positions authorized  for  fiscal
25    year  2000  in Section 2, House Bill 333, enacted by the First Regular Session
26    of the Fifty-fifth Idaho Legislature, the Department of  Juvenile  Corrections
27    is  authorized one (1) full-time equivalent position for the program specified
28    in Section 1 of this act in accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho  Code,  and
29    no  more than two hundred seventy-three and one-half (273.5) full-time equiva-
30    lent positions at any point during the period July 1, 1999, through  June  30,
31    2000.

This is the fiscal year 2000 trailer appropriation for the Department of Juvenile Corrections.

Analyst Comments: This funding is for a compliance monitor/training specialist to monitor detention facilities and non-secure facilities for
compliance with state standards, monitor compliance with requirements of the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, and to
develop standards for personnel in detention and probation.
