In addition to any other appropriation, there is hereby appro- 9 priated to the Public Utilities Commission for commissioner salaries and bene- 10 fit costs, to be expended according to the designated expense class from the 11 listed fund for the period July 1, 2000, through June 30, 2001: 12 FOR: 13 Personnel Costs $9,600 14 FROM: 15 Public Utilities Commission Fund $9,600 16 SECTION 2. This is a fiscal year 2001 trailer appropriation to fund the adjustment in the salaries for the commissioners of the Public Utilities Commission, Tax Commission, and Industrial Commission as a result of the passage of SB1529aa,aaH. SB 1529aa,aaH increases the annual salaries of the Public Utilities Commissioners, Tax Commissioners, and Industrial Commissioners by 31/2 percent on July 1, 2000.

Fiscal Note |
The total cost to the General Fund in fiscal year 2001 is $10,000. This is 90% of the cost of the additional salary and benefits for the four Tax Commissioners. The three Public Utility Commissioners’ salaries, three Industrial Commissioners’ salaries, and the remaining portion of the Tax Commissioners’ salaries are funded with dedicated funds, namely the Public Utilities Commission Fund, the Industrial Administration Fund, and the Administration Services for Transportation Fund. The total $30,100 appropriation provides funding to increase Public Utility Commissioners from $75,000 to $77,625, State Tax Commissioners from $65,000 to $67,275, and Industrial Commissioners from $73,000 to $75,555.
