H0561|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-fourth Legislature Second Regular Session - 1998IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE BILL NO. 561 BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE REGULATORY BOARDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998; 3 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 4 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 5 SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter 6 390, Laws of 1997, there is hereby appropriated to the Regulatory Boards in 7 the Department of Self-Governing Agencies the following amounts to be expended 8 for the designated programs according to the designated standard classifica- 9 tions from the listed fund for the period July 1, 1997, through June 30, 1998: 10 A. STATE ATHLETIC COMMISSION: 11 FOR: 12 Personnel Costs $13,900 13 Operating Expenses 11,900 14 TOTAL $25,800 15 FROM: 16 State Regulatory Fund $25,800 17 B. BOARD OF MEDICINE: 18 FOR: 19 Operating Expenditures $50,000 20 FROM: 21 State Regulatory Fund $50,000 22 SECTION 2. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby 23 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its 24 passage and approval.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE HB0561 This bill is a fiscal year 1998 supplemental for the Regulatory Boards in the Department of Self-Governing Agencies. Two issues are addressed by this appropriation. The first provides additional funding for the Board of Medicine to pay for the increased legal costs associated with an increase in enforcement activities. The second provides additional funding for the Athletic Commission to pay for the costs of the increased number of boxing events it is charged with regulating.
