STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 07572C1 This proposed legislation will transfer management control of several small parcels of land within the boundaries of Farragut State Park, from the Department of Fish and Game to the Department of Parks and Recreation. The park lands, after being declared surplus property by the U.S. Government were quit claimed deeded to the State of Idaho in piecemeal. Management control is divided between two state agencies. This bill will provide that nine separate parcels of land, now controlled by Fish and Game, will instead be controlled by Parks and Recreation. Said parcels are surrounded by park lands actively administered. This transfer will result in more effective, efficient, and specific management of state lands. FISCAL NOTE No Fiscal Impact.
