Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

    STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
    RS07344

    Idaho State Board of Optometry

Amend existing statute to establish a penalty fee for reinstatement of a license to be $1
    50.00

    FISCAL IMPACT
There is not fiscal impact to the General Fund.

The Bureau reviewed the average number of cancelled licenses over the past three (3)
years. With that number the fiscal impact would be: Average number of cancelled licenses 19
per year x $150 = $2,850 estimated increase in revenue. However, the legislation is
designed to reduce the number of practitioners operating with an invalid license, so we do
not anticipate the fiscal impact to be this high.
