Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

                                      STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

                                             HB0561

This bill is a fiscal year 1998 supplemental for the Regulatory Boards in the Department of
Self-Governing Agencies. Two issues are addressed by this appropriation. The first provides
additional funding for the Board of Medicine to pay for the increased legal costs associated
with an increase in enforcement activities. The second provides additional funding for the
Athletic Commission to pay for the costs of the increased number of boxing events it is charged
with regulating.
