H0607|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-fourth Legislature Second Regular Session - 1998IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE BILL NO. 607 BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION FOR FISCAL 3 YEAR 1998; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 4 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 5 SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter 6 334, Laws of 1997, there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Correc- 7 tion the following amounts to be expended for the designated program according 8 to the designated standard classifications from the listed funds for the 9 period July 1, 1997, through June 30, 1998: 10 FOR FOR 11 OPERATING TRUSTEE AND 12 EXPENDITURES BENEFIT TOTAL 13 PAYMENTS 14 A. ADMINISTRATION: 15 FROM: 16 General Fund $180,800 $4,100,000 $4,280,800 17 Federal Fund 1,000,000 1,000,000 18 TOTAL $180,800 $5,100,000 $5,280,800 19 SECTION 2. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby 20 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its 21 passage and approval.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
HB 607
This bill provides a $5,280,800 supplemental appropriation for the Department of Correction for
fiscal year 1998.

1) Transport staff and van were zero funded.
2) An additional $4,100,000 of General Funds, and $1,000,000 of federal funds for county jail
space for state inmates, and out-of-state contracts for housing inmates. This funding is one-time
only.
3) Adds $180,800 of General Funds to the Administration Program for additional liability
insurance premium to the Idaho Department of Administration.
