                                    HOUSE BILL NO. 641

                            BY REVENUE AND TAXATION COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    RELATING TO COMPENSATION OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TAX APPEALS; AMENDING SEC-
 3        TION 63-3804, IDAHO CODE, TO PROVIDE THE COMPENSATION OF  MEMBERS  OF  THE
 4        BOARD OF TAX APPEALS.

 5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 6        SECTION  1.  That  Section 63-3804, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby
 7    amended to read as follows:

 8        63-3804.  COMPENSATION. Each member of  the  board  shall  be  compensated
 9      as provided by section 59-509(i)   in the amount of two hun-
10    dred dollars ($200) per day and shall be reimbursed for actual  and  necessary
11    expenses,  subject  to  the  limits  provided in section 67-2008 , Idaho
12    Code.

                         STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
                               RS 07577
    
    This proposed legislation will increase the 
    compensation of each member of the Board of Tax Appeals 
    from seventy five dollars ($75) per day to two hundred 
    ($200) per day. The last salary increase for hearing 
    officers was made about 1980. In addition, each member of 
    the board shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary 
    expenses, subject to the limits provided in section 
    672007, Idaho Code .
    
    
                              FISCAL NOTE
    
    This legislation impacts the general fund for FY 1999 
    by $12,000 plus actual and necessary expenses subject to 
    section 67-2007 Idaho Code.
