                               BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000;  EXPRESSING
 3        LEGISLATIVE  INTENT WITH RESPECT TO CERTAIN EXPENDITURES; AND LIMITING THE
 4        NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS.

 5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 6        SECTION 1.  There is hereby appropriated to the Attorney General the  fol-
 7    lowing  amounts,  to  be expended for the designated programs according to the
 8    designated expense classes from the listed funds for the period July 1,  1999,
 9    through June 30, 2000:

27        SECTION 2.  It is legislative intent that an amount, not to exceed $1,000,
28    of  the  amount appropriated in Section 1 of this act, may be used at the dis-
29    cretion of the Attorney General to assist in defraying expenses relating to or
30    resulting from the discharge of the Attorney General's official  duties.  Such
31    moneys shall be accounted for according to the provisions of Chapter 36, Title
32    67, Idaho Code, and Section 67-3516, Idaho Code.

33        SECTION  3.  In  accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Attorney
34    General is authorized no more than one hundred  seventy-four  and  nine-tenths
35    (174.9)  full-time equivalent positions at any point during the period July 1,
36    1999, through June 30, 2000, for the programs specified in Section 1  of  this
37    act,  unless  specifically  authorized  by  the  Governor.  The Joint Finance-
38    Appropriations Committee will be notified promptly of any increased  positions
39    so authorized.
