                                   SENATE BILL NO. 1051

                                   BY FINANCE COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS  TO THE STATE TAX COMMISSION; AND DECLARING AN
 3        EMERGENCY.

 4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 5        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made in  Section  1,  Chapter
 6    64,  Laws of 1998, there is hereby appropriated to the State Tax Commission in
 7    the Department of Revenue and Taxation, the following amount  to  be  expended
 8    for the designated program according to the designated standard classification
 9    from the listed funds for the period July 1, 1998, through June 30, 1999:

17        SECTION  2.  An  emergency  existing  therefor,  which emergency is hereby
18    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
19    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact



                                         STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

                                                SB1051

This fiscal year 1999 supplemental appropriation provides $100,000 in additional funding for
the State Tax Commission to hire contract computer programmers.  These programmers will
assist the Tax Commission in making their mission critical computer systems ready for the
Year 2000 date change.  Of the $100,000 provided, $92,000 is from the General Fund, and
$8,000 is from the Administration Services for Transportation Fund.
