                                   SENATE BILL NO. 1103

                                  BY EDUCATION COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    RELATING TO GOVERNANCE OF SCHOOLS; AMENDING CHAPTER 5, TITLE 33,  IDAHO  CODE,
 3        BY  THE ADDITION OF A NEW SECTION 33-520, IDAHO CODE, TO REQUIRE THAT EACH
 4        MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF A SCHOOL DISTRICT SHALL RECEIVE A  COPY
 5        OF REPORTS.

 6    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 7        SECTION  1.  That  Chapter  5,  Title  33, Idaho Code, be, and the same is
 8    hereby amended by the addition thereto of a  NEW SECTION  ,  to  be
 9    known and designated as Section 33-520, Idaho Code, and to read as follows:

10        33-520.  REPORTS  TO  BOARD  OF  TRUSTEES.  Each  member  of  the board of
11    trustees of a school  district  shall  receive  copies  of  the  accreditation
12    reports and copies of building inspection reports, including any written order
13    or  notice  received pursuant to section 39-4130, Idaho Code, for every school
14    within the district. It shall be the duty of the superintendent  of  the  dis-
15    trict  to  forward  copies  of all such reports to each member of the board of
16    trustees promptly upon their receipt by the school district.

The purpose of this legislation is to amend Chapter 5, Title 33, Idaho
Code, to require that each member of the Board of Trustees of a School
District shall receive a copy of accreditation reports and copies of building
inspection reports.









                          FISCAL IMPACT

The impact to local districts is estimated to be less than $500 annually.
