APPROPRIATIONS - STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION - TEACHER TRAINING - Appropriates
$1,000,000 to the  State Board of Education  and the Board of Regents of
the University of Idaho for teacher training for fiscal year 2000; and
provides legislative intent that the expenditure of funds for teacher
training be at the recommendation of the State Council for Technology in
Learning subject to review and approval by the State Board of Education.

                                   SENATE BILL NO. 1275

                                   BY FINANCE COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY  OF  IDAHO  AND
 3        THE  STATE  BOARD  OF EDUCATION FOR TEACHER TRAINING FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000;
 4        AND EXPRESSING LEGISLATIVE INTENT WITH RESPECT TO EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR
 5        TEACHER TRAINING.

 6    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 7        SECTION 1.  There is hereby appropriated $1,000,000 from the General  Fund
 8    to the Board of Regents of the University of Idaho and the State Board of Edu-
 9    cation,  for  teacher  training,  to  be expended for the period July 1, 1999,
10    through June 30, 2000.

11        SECTION 2.  It is legislative intent that the State Council for Technology
12    in Learning make a recommendation, subject to review and approval by the State
13    Board of Education, on the  use  and  allocation  of  funds  appropriated  for
14    teacher training in Section 1 of this act.

This bill appropriates $1,000,000 of one-time General Funds to the State Board of
Education to be used for teacher training at state postsecondary educational
institutions.
