There is hereby appropriated to the Department of Labor the 6 following amounts, to be expended according to the designated expense classes 7 from the listed funds for the period July 1, 1999, through June 30, 2000: 8 FOR FOR 9 PERSONNEL OPERATING 10 COSTS EXPENDITURES TOTAL 11 I. In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Department 29 of Labor is authorized no more than seven (7) full-time equivalent positions 30 at any point during the period July 1, 1999, through June 30, 2000, for the 31 programs specified in Section 1 of this act, unless specifically authorized by 32 the Governor. The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee will be notified 33 promptly of any increased positions so authorized.

COMMENTS
This is the fiscal year 2000 appropriation for the Department of Labor in the amount of
$613,600.
Until FY 1997, the Department of Labor was known as the Department of Employment. Most
of the department operates under a continuous appropriation. Only the Wage & Hour
Section and the Idaho Rural Partnership are appropriated by the Legislature.
This appropriation also limits the department's number of full-time positions for FY
2000.
