S1241|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-fifth Legislature First Regular Session - 1999IN THE SENATE SENATE BILL NO. 1241 BY FINANCE COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000; LIM- 3 ITING THE NUMBER OF FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS; APPROPRIATING ADDI- 4 TIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999; AND 5 DECLARING AN EMERGENCY FOR SECTION 3 OF THIS ACT. 6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 7 SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the Department of Insurance 8 the following amounts, to be expended for the designated programs according to 9 the designated expense classes from the listed funds for the period July 1, 10 1999, through June 30, 2000: 11 FOR FOR FOR 12 PERSONNEL OPERATING CAPITAL 13 COSTS EXPENDITURES OUTLAY TOTAL 14 I. In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Department 30 of Insurance is authorized no more than sixty-four and one-half (64.5) full- 31 time equivalent positions at any point during the period July 1, 1999, through 32 June 30, 2000, for the programs specified in Section 1 of this act, unless 33 specifically authorized by the Governor. The Joint Finance-Appropriations Com- 34 mittee will be notified promptly of any increased positions so authorized. 35 SECTION 3. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter 36 35, Laws of 1998, there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Insurance 37 the following amounts to be expended for the designated program according to 38 the designated expense class from the listed fund for the period July 1, 1998, 39 through June 30, 1999: 2 1 STATE FIRE MARSHAL: 2 FOR: 3 Personnel Costs $46,600 4 FROM: 5 Self-Governing State Fire Marshal Fund $46,600 6 SECTION 4. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby 7 declared to exist, Section 3 this act shall be in full force and effect on and 8 after its passage and approval.

This is a fiscal year 1999 supplemental appropriation for the Department of Insurance and
the fiscal year 2000 appropriation for the Department of Insurance.

COMMENTS:
This is a fiscal year 1999 supplemental appropriation for the Department of Insurance in
the amount of $46,600. This is also the fiscal year 2000 appropriation for the
Department of Insurance in the amount of $5,246,500.
The Department of Insurance consists of two programs: Insurance Regulation and the State
Fire Marshal. It receives no General Fund money.
This appropriation also limits the department's number of full-time positions for FY
2000.
