12 33-1004B. ENTITLEMENT OF INSTRUCTIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF TO MINI-
13 MUM SALARY BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION -- ENTITLEMENT OF CLASSIFIED
14 STAFF TO MINIMUM SALARY. (1) Each school district's apportionment from the
15 state educational support program includes funds for support of staff sala-
16 ries. This salary-based apportionment for instructional and administrative
17 staff is determined, in part, by assigning a multiplier to each certificated
18 staff position based on each employee's experience and education using the
19 chart in section 33-1004A, Idaho Code. Once the employee's multiplier has been
20 determined, that number is multiplied by the appropriate base salary, either
21 instructional or administrative, as provided in section 33-1004E, Idaho Code,
22 to obtain an individual base salary.
23 (2) Each school district shall pay to each instructional and administra-
24 tive staff member, at a minimum, the individual base salary as computed using
25 the calculation in subsection (1) of this section.
26 (3) Each school district shall pay to each classified staff, at a mini-
27 mum, the base salary as specified in subsection 3. of section 33-1004E, Idaho
 28 Code.

 30 1, 2000.

Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

                     STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
                            RS 09582

The purpose of this legislation is to amend Chapter 10, Title
33, Idaho Code, by the addition of anew section to provide that
district instructional and administrative staff and classified
staff shall receive, as a minimum, the amount of money provided
by the state educational support program pursuant to Chapter 10,
Title 33, Section 33-1004A and Section 33-1004E.

                          FISCAL IMPACT
There is no impact to the General Fund. School districts that are
currently paying staff less than the amount received from the state
educational support program for these employees may have to redirect
some expenditures.
