  1                                        AN ACT
  2    RELATING TO STATE MILITIA; AMENDING SECTION 46-103, IDAHO CODE, TO REDUCE  THE
  3        MAXIMUM AGE OF ENLISTED PERSONNEL AND TO REDUCE THE MAXIMUM AGE OF COMMIS-
  4        SIONED OFFICERS.
                                                                        
  5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  6        SECTION  1.  That  Section  46-103, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby
  7    amended to read as follows:
                                                                        
  8        46-103.  STATE MILITIA -- DIVISION INTO CLASSES. The militia of the  state
  9    of Idaho shall be divided into three (3) classes, to wit:
 10        The  national  guard,  the organized militia, and the unorganized militia.
 11    The national guard shall consist of enlisted personnel  between  the  ages  of
 12    seventeen  (17)  years  and  sixty-four  (64)  sixty (60) years, organized and
 13    equipped and armed as provided in the national defense  act,  and  of  commis-
 14    sioned  officers  between  the ages of eighteen (18) years and sixty-four (64)
 15    sixty (60) years, who shall be appointed and commissioned by the  governor  as
 16    commander-in-chief,  in conformity with the provisions of the national defense
 17    act, the rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, and  as  authorized  by
 18    the provisions of this act. The organized militia shall include any portion of
 19    the unorganized militia called into service by the governor, and not federally
 20    recognized.  The  unorganized  militia shall include all of the militia of the
 21    state of Idaho not included in the national guard or the organized militia.

  This proposal amends I.C. 46-103 to revise maximum age criteria 
for service in the national guard and brings this section into
