BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
1 AN ACT
2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE IDAHO TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT FOR
3 FISCAL YEAR 2001; AUTHORIZING TWO ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSI-
4 TIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
6 SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter
7 45, Laws of 2000, there is hereby appropriated to the Idaho Transportation
8 Department the following amounts to be expended for the designated programs
9 according to the designated expense classes from the listed funds for the
10 period July 1, 2000, through June 30, 2001:

32 SECTION 2. In addition to the authorization made in Section 3, Chapter
33 45, Laws of 2000, the Idaho Transportation Department is hereby authorized two
34 (2) full-time equivalent positions for the period July 1, 2000, through June
35 30, 2001.
36 SECTION 3. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby
37 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
38 passage and approval.

This bill provides additional fiscal year 2001 funding in the amount of $171,900 from the State Highway Fund and $300,000 from the State Aeronautics Fund to the Idaho Transportation Department for a total of $471,900. It authorizes ITD two additional full-time equivalent positions.

| Fiscal Note |
This bill provides funding for three items:
1) Provides $130,900 for additional costs of administering the truck registration system. Funding of $83,900 will be used for additional data collection and analysis and $47,000 will be used for one additional position to meet the workload placed on the Department due to the repeal of the weight-distance system.
2) Provides one additional position and $41,000 to Motor Vehicles to administer the Transitional Ownership Document Program which became effective January 1, 2001.
3) Provides $300,000 in spending authority from the State Aeronautics Fund for additional Airport Development match.
