  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE SUPREME COURT IN  ADDITION  TO  THE  APPROPRIATION
  3        MADE  IN  SECTION 1, SENATE BILL NO. 1206, AS ENACTED BY THE FIRST REGULAR
  4        SESSION OF THE FIFTY-SIXTH IDAHO LEGISLATURE.
                                                                        
  5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  6        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made  in  Section  1,  Senate
  7    Bill  No.  1206,  as  enacted  by the First Regular Session of the Fifty-sixth
  8    Idaho Legislature, there is hereby appropriated to the Supreme Court the  fol-
  9    lowing amount to be expended from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2001,
 10    through June 30, 2002:

Statement of Purpose

This is a trailer appropriation to the Judicial Branch to fund Services to Children in Family Courts and Court Assistance Offices in FY 2002. This appropriation provides the funding for the programs authorized in Senate Bill 1172.

Fiscal Note

1) Services to Children in Family Court: A total of $500,000 from the General Fund was provided for parent education, alternate dispute resolution screening reports, mediation services, supervised visitation and exchanges of children, training for magistrates, and family court coordinators. Of the total $500,000, the following amounts were provided by judicial district and to the Supreme Court:

1st District $61,101

2nd District $52,461

3rd District $35,221

4th District $94,021

5th District $59,662

6th District $52,462

7th District $66,672

Supreme Court $78,400

Total $500,000

The $78,400 for the Supreme Court is for statewide coordination and training for Family Court Services Coordinators.

2) Court Assistance Offices: A total of $140,000 was provided from General Funds. Twenty thousand dollars shall be provided to each of the seven judicial districts for court assistance officers.

The total amount appropriated for Services to Children in Family Court and for Court Assistance Offices is $640,000.
