SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 102
BY STATE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
2 TO THE FAMILIES OF PHILLIP ANDERSON AND JAMES MOULSON.
3 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
4 WHEREAS, Corporal Phillip Anderson, twenty-three years of age, was killed
5 in the line of duty in Eden, Idaho, on January 3, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Corporal James Moulson, thirty years of age, was killed in the
7 line of duty in Eden, Idaho, on January 3, 2001; and
8 WHEREAS, Corporal Phillip Anderson served with the Jerome County Sheriff's
9 Department for two years; and
10 WHEREAS, Corporal James Moulson served with the Jerome County Sheriff's
11 Department for five years; and
12 WHEREAS, both Corporal Phillip Anderson and Corporal James Moulson, by
13 their outstanding service and devotion, brought honor to the Jerome County
14 Sheriff's Department and to all peace officers across the state of Idaho; and
15 WHEREAS, Corporal Phillip Anderson and Corporal James Moulson were the Je-
16 rome County Sheriff's Department's only trained K-9 officers; and
17 WHEREAS, the deaths of Corporal Phillip Anderson and Corporal James
18 Moulson are tragedies for all citizens of the state of Idaho, particularly
19 those citizens of Jerome County who most directly benefitted from the service
20 and commitment of these two individuals; and
21 WHEREAS, Corporal Phillip Anderson and Corporal James Moulson will be
22 remembered and missed by their families, friends and the communities in which
23 they worked and lived as dedicated officers and caring individuals; and
24 WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the Legislature of the State of Idaho, on
25 behalf of the citizens of this state, recognize and memorialize Corporal
26 Phillip Anderson and Corporal James Moulson and express our sympathy to their
27 families.
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the First Regular Session
29 of the Fifty-sixth Idaho Legislature, the Senate and the House of Representa-
30 tives concurring therein, that we extend our sympathy to the families of
31 Phillip Anderson and James Moulson at the loss of two citizens whose devotion
32 to public service and their communities we commend and recognize.
33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate be, and she is
34 hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the
35 families of Phillip Anderson and James Moulson with our deepest sympathies.
