|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-sixth Legislature Second Regular Session - 2002IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 40 BY TRANSPORTATION AND DEFENSE COMMITTEE 1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 2 STATING FINDINGS OF THE LEGISLATURE AND COMMENDING THE EFFORTS OF PRESIDENT 3 GEORGE W. BUSH, THE PRESIDENT'S CABINET, AND THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE 4 UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES IN THE WAR ON TERRORISM. 5 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 6 WHEREAS, since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, President 7 George W. Bush has shown leadership at home, using his office to rally the 8 nation and wisely counseling the American people to be patient and determined 9 in the fight against terrorism, has shown leadership internationally, building 10 a broad coalition of nations to support the fight against terrorism; and 11 WHEREAS, Secretary of State Colin Powell has led a successful effort to 12 build a worldwide coalition to fight terrorism; and 13 WHEREAS, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has led a successful mili- 14 tary effort against sponsors of terrorism abroad; and 15 WHEREAS, Director of Homeland Security Tom Ridge is leading the effort to 16 build an effective defense against the terrorist threat; and 17 WHEREAS, the men and women of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, 18 Marine Corps and Coast Guard have shown great courage and sacrifice, protect- 19 ing the American people from the threat of international terrorism. 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the Second Regular Ses- 21 sion of the Fifty-sixth Idaho Legislature, the House of Representatives and 22 the Senate concurring therein, that we express our gratitude to President 23 George W. Bush, the President's cabinet, and the men and women of the United 24 States armed forces for their leadership and sacrifice, and declare our sup- 25 port for this long and difficult war on terrorism.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 11683 The Idaho Legislature commends the efforts of President George W. Bush, the President's cabinet officers, and the men and women of the United States Armed Forces in the war on terrorism and declare our support.
