1 AN ACT
2 RELATING TO STATE-OWNED FOREST PRODUCTS; AMENDING SECTION 58-415, IDAHO CODE,
3 TO PROVIDE FOR THE MEASURING OF FOREST PRODUCTS SOLD FROM STATE LAND.
4 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
5 SECTION 1. That Section 58-415, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby
6 amended to read as follows:
7 58-415. MEASURING METHOD USED IN SALE OF STATE-OWNED TIMBER FOREST PROD-
8 UCTS. For sales of timber forest products from state lands, the state board of
9 land commissioners shall cause the timber forest products to be measured, in
10 lieu of selling by lump sum based on a cruise, unless in the discretion of the
11 state board of land commissioners it shall be in the interest of the state to
12 use the lump sum method. Acceptable methods of measuring timber forest prod-
13 ucts shall include, but are not limited to, weight, scaling, cubing, by the
14 lineal foot, or by the piece.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS 16465
The purpose of this amendment is to clarify that all forest
products sold, not just timber, should be measured.
FISCAL NOTE
There will be no budgetary fiscal impact due to these changes.
