1 AN ACT
2 APPROPRIATING MONEYS FOR THE IDAHO EDUCATIONAL PUBLIC BROADCASTING SYSTEM FOR
3 FISCAL YEAR 2009; LIMITING THE NUMBER OF FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS;
4 AND DIRECTING THE REAPPROPRIATION OF CERTAIN MONEYS.
5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
6 SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the State Board of Education
7 for the Idaho Educational Public Broadcasting System the following amounts to
8 be expended according to the designated expense classes from the listed funds
9 for the period July 1, 2008, through June 30, 2009:

18 SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Idaho Edu-
19 cational Public Broadcasting System is authorized no more than thirty-three
20 (33) full-time equivalent positions to be funded by the appropriation in Sec-
21 tion 1 of this act, at any point during the period July 1, 2008, through June
22 30, 2009, unless specifically authorized by the Governor. The Joint Finance-
23 Appropriations Committee will be notified promptly of any increased positions
24 so authorized.
25 SECTION 3. Any unspent moneys appropriated for digital equipment upgrades
26 for the period July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, shall be reappropriated
27 for the purposes of completing future digital equipment projects. This appro-
28 priation acknowledges that additional nonstate grant funds may become avail-
29 able to support digital equipment upgrades during the period July 1, 2008,
30 through June 30, 2009.

This is the fiscal year 2009 appropriation for Idaho Public Television, in the amount of $4,538,700. In addition to the appropriation, Section 3 of the bill encumbers any unspent digital equipment upgrade money from fiscal year 2008 for the purposes of completing those projects in fiscal year 2009.
