BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
1 AN ACT
2 APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE OFFICE OF THE STATE APPELLATE PUBLIC DEFENDER FOR
3 FISCAL YEAR 2004; LIMITING THE NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT
4 POSITIONS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
6 SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the Office of the State Appel-
7 late Public Defender the following amounts, to be expended according to the
8 designated expense classes from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2003,
9 through June 30, 2004:
10 FOR:
11 Personnel Costs $ 983,200
12 Operating Expenditures 245,800
13 TOTAL $1,229,000
14 FROM:
15 General Fund $1,229,000
16 SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Office of
17 the State Appellate Public Defender is authorized no more than fifteen (15)
18 full-time equivalent positions at any point during the period July 1, 2003,
19 through June 30, 2004, for the program specified in Section 1 of this act,
20 unless specifically authorized by the Governor. The Joint Finance-
21 Appropriations Committee will be notified promptly of any increased positions
22 so authorized.
23 SECTION 3. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby
24 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after
25 July 1, 2003.
